A s we communicate to each other each day, we uses all the languages used in the Bible without being aware of it. We uses terminology, homonyms, synonyms, metaphors, antonyms, and idioms. Men and women uses parable every hour in courtship. We uses signs and symbols as we drive down our Modern Highway. The red, green and yellow light are symbols. Then! we have signs. All these are incorporated in the Bible, the problem is that many of us do not know how to identified them.

Many people who cannot understand the Bible, are actually having an English problem and not a Biblical problem. We cannot understand the Bible until we understand the culture, language and back ground of the people who wrote the Bible, and to whom the Bible were sent. We cannot interpret the Bible by your own rules. Before we go into the study, it is important to know that the Bible was written to the saints. Every book was written to some dedicated men or women of God. It was written to "workmen," People who are preaching the word of God.

IT WAS WRITTEN TO:

2Timothy 2:15-AV Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

IT WAS WRITTEN BY:

2Peter 1:21-AV For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake [as they were] moved by the Holy Ghost.

IT CAN ONLY BE INTERPRETED BY:

1Corinthians 2:13-AV Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 1Corinthians 2:14-AV But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned. 1Corinthians 2:15-AV But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

A WORD OF CAUTIONS:

I want to advise readers that this is not an English lesson I am giving, I am only making you aware of some thing to keep in mind when trying to interprets the Bible.

HERE WE GO:

The Bible contains: proverbs, parables, visions, dreams, revelations, signs, type and symbols. All these are interpreted with different rules. To explain type, some animals mean something rather that what it seem.

For example, the lion is a type of Christ, the lamb is a type of Christ.

John 1:29 (KJV) The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Rev. 5:5 (KJV) And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

DOVE SPEAK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT:

Luke 3:22 (KJV) And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

DOG AND HOG:

Dogs, and hog is a type of backsliders. These speak of backsliders. If a person do not understand types and symbols, they will not understand the book of Revelation, Ezekiel and Daniel.

You must know if it was a question, are a suggestion, a comment, a complain, a compliment, a quotation, an applaud or a sarcasm. Because all these are use in the Bible. You must know Bible customs, and know the proverbs, and different part of speeches that these eastern people use.

This does not mean that the people have a heart of stone in their body. It is talking about the hard nature of the soul, just like an husband who want to dump his wife, for small reasons, and refuse to forgave.

HOMONYMS:

These are words that spell the same, but when spoken have different meaning.

Heal: to restore to health. heel: the back of a foot. Bear, bare, vary, very.

SYNONYMS:

A word are phrases that have almost the same meaning.

ANTONYMS:

words with opposite meaning. Example, fast, slow, new, old.

IDIOMS:

Words are phrases that mean something other than what it say. Example: It only happen once in a blue moon: "He has a serpent under his hat"

"She have two faces" Hanna won the contest and now she is walking on air.

I heard it from the horse mouth: This does not mean that a horse has spoken. It mean that it was heard from a very good source.

He jump ship: This does not mean that the person jump off a ship; it mean he changes plan quickly. Are Leave his political party over night.

EASTERN IDIOMS:

IDIOMS use at the time of our lord and still being use today.

Matthew 5:29-AV And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Matthew 5:30-AV And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into hell.)

( Our lord is not telling you to dig your eyes out simple because it is not working good. He is using an idioms.

Matthew 5:39-AV But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Luke 6:27-AV But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

Luke 6:28-AV Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

Luke 6:29-AV And unto him that smiteth thee on the [one] cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not [to take thy] coat also.)

( Here again our lord is not telling you to let people broke up your cheek. He is using an idiom. This mean to do every thing in your power to avoid hostility, even to the point of taking the wrong, if this will end the conflict and bring about peace between you and your opponent.

1 Cor. 6:7 (KJV) Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?

Matthew 5:41-AV And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

You will find these uses all over Paul's writing, and are the main causes of Bible mis-interpretation. When the unlearned people get these, and start to talk, they sound wise to themselves.

2Peter 3:16-AV As also in all [his] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as [they do] also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

FALSE PROPHETS = WOLVES.

Matthew 7:15-20 (KJV) Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. [16] Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? [17] Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. BEAST = EVIL POLITICAL LEADERS.
